The idea of the Raw Voltage Heimspiel (german for home game) was initially born as a small and nice event we did last summer. Being the first modular store in vienna, we just wanted to celebrate modular music with all the friends and customers we got to know in our first months since the opening and what would be better than inviting these great viennese artists to rock the show! By the way, there will be another Heimspiel event on 23rd of March 2017 but we’ll come to that later…
Following this basic idea we took it a step further as we tried to translate this concept into a YouTube format by inviting vienese artists to our small storefront in order to give us a little private concert and sort of an interview (there are subtitles in the video), so we could film that and show these great artists to the entire world. First, this was easier said than done because we did not have any experience in doing videos and had no idea about things like illumination, which cameras are suitable and where do we get them and above this – how do we
use them proper? But with a little (or a little more) help from our friends, especially Daniel Steiner and Mathias Lagorio Seebacher, i guess it worked out pretty well and so we were very excited and proud that we were able to launch the first episode on our one year anniversary party!
And so here it is – Raw Voltage Heimspiel #1 featuring the fabulous Largeman!
Largeman is a vienna based electronic artist with a quite unique background. The early days he was strongly influenced by californian crossover bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and later on he got in touch with Krautrock. Stepping into electronic music he soon realized that modular synthesizers give him the ability to work intuitively “in the moment” and give him the feeling to play a “real” instrument. Please enjoy! We are honoured by his presence and we are excited what he will come up with in the future!
